Fort Wayne, Indiana and Appleton, Wisconsin wedding photographer, Ksenia Bruner of Eighth Day Photography, is based in two locations, serving two beautiful communities. Eighth Day Photography has had the pleasure of documenting weddings at some of Indiana and Wisconsin's most prestigious venues, including the Ritz Charles Indianapolis, Laurel Hall, Cerutis and the Landmark in Fort Wayne, Fort Benjamin Harrison, Union Station and the Omni hotel in Indianapolis, and the Springfield Art Museum in Ohio.
In addition, Eighth Day Photography is greatly experienced in documenting Orthodox weddings, and are well versed in Greek, Russian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Antiochian, Arabic and Romanian traditions and customs.
Ksenia is also an accomplished portrait photographer, specializing in lifestyle and photojournalistic portraiture focusing on maternity, babies, children and families.
Wow, where to begin. I have been photographing since I was a teenager. Photography had always been a fun hobby, from photographing rugby games while a player at Brandeis University, to my backpacking adventure through Europe and then documenting my daily life while living in Japan.
It was during my years as a student and spouse at St Vladimir's Seminary that I made the move from active hobbyist to professional photographer. For years, Dn. Gregory and I photographed baptisms, ordinations, special events, and yes, weddings, while were lived in New York. During each and every event, we were able to capture the pure joy on the faces of the people with whom we were involved. Looking at the pictures after each event, not only did we capture the joy of the day, but we really captured their story. That was it for us! We had discovered what it was we were meant to do!
So, what does bakcpacking through Europe, documenting daily life in Japan and photos from baptisms have to do with your wedding? Everything!! Your wedding day is your story, from the mundane of putting on the cuff links to the exciting moment where you become a new family. Well, it's always about having fun! Your wedding will be full of wonderful, fun, and intense emotions and we will be there to document it all with extreme sensitivity. We know you have heard about "being a fly on the wal" and this is what we strive to achieve with each wedding. The only time we become more directive is when we are gathering your families for the formal photos. Otherwise, we want you to enjoy your day!
We always bring back-up equipment for those just in case rare moments. When we travel for weddings, we always arrive early or arrive the night before, depending on the location. We welcome travel as we love to see new places and our weddings have taken us from New York to New Mexico and between. Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Appleton, Wisconsin, we work extensively in Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago and throughout Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin.
We cannot tell you how many times we hear "Thank you" from parents and relatives of the bride and groom on the day of the wedding and beyond! Usually, they describe a past event where the wedding photographer was yelling or unpleasant to work with in general. We pride ourselves in being the opposite of this. Our career revolves around you and not the other way around. Do not be surprised if we (okay, me!) get so excited while photographing your day that I get a little silly! We love what we do with a passion and I am so lucky and blessed that I get to do what I love for a living! I bring this attitude with me to every wedding.
